Olivia Powell

Olivia Powell is a seasoned professional in geospatial and geographic information systems, currently serving as the Head of Geography & Geospatial at the Office for National Statistics since June 2022 and a member of the Catapult Advisory Group at the Satellite Applications Catapult since October 2022. Previously, Olivia held the position of Head of International at the Geospatial Commission from October 2020 to June 2022, focusing on international engagement and policy. A long tenure at Avon and Somerset Constabulary from March 2004 to October 2020 included roles such as GIS Manager and Senior Criminal Intelligence Analyst, highlighting expertise in geospatial solutions, intelligence analysis, and training within the analyst profession. Olivia’s career began at the Environment Agency as a Flood Defence Strategic Planning and GIS officer from May 2001 to March 2004. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences with a specialization in GIS and a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, both from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne.
