We have technical expertise or experience in the pharmaceuticals, and medical and surgical devices (including with electronic components) areas, as well as in the mechanical and mining sectors, and the electrical and Information Technology spaces. We have had considerable experience with patent oppositions, trade mark oppositions and patent litigation.

S&A Law has expertise in manging contentious matters, both prior to the commencement of litigation and also before the courts. For matters which do ultimately find their way to administrative authorities or courts, we have experience before IP Australia, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, the Local Court of New South Wales, the Federal Court of Australia (both at first instance and on appeal to the Full Federal Court) and the High Court of Australia.  We also have experience in NCAT.

Our commercial law strengths lie in negotiating and drafting a wide range of commercial agreements, including confidentiality, material transfer, multi-site clinical trial, research collaboration, lease, licence and assignment agreements, and in providing general commercial advice. We have also had considerable experience dealing with aspects of M&A transactions, including undertaking due diligence enquiries, and in negotiating settlement of commercial disputes.
