Johan Nordström

Johan Nordström has a diverse and extensive work experience. Johan started their career as an Assistant Legal Advisor at Svedala Industri AB in 1992, where they prepared commercial agreements and set up and administered a corporate register. From 1993 to 1995, Johan worked as a Deputy Judge at Eksjö tingsrätt, handling and preparing civil and criminal cases.

In 1995, they joined UNPROFOR as a Military Information Officer, a role they held until 1996. Johan then worked as a Legal Counsel at Transcurrent, LLC from 1998 to 1999.

In 1996, Johan joined Vattenfall AB as a Legal Counsel, leading a team of in-house legal counsels supporting the company's power generation activities. Johan was later promoted to Senior Legal Counsel, responsible for coordinating legal support for the Vattenfall Group's Merger & Acquisition activities. Johan was engaged as the leading counsel in mergers and acquisitions in various countries, including the Nordic region, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Latin America. Johan was also a member of several M&A steering groups and management teams.

Johan joined Saab in 2018 as the Vice President/Head of Legal, Business Area Support & Services, with direct reporting legal counsel. In 2021, they were promoted to Vice President/Head of Legal Operational Excellence and Special Projects.

Johan Nordström's education history includes a wide range of studies in different fields. Johan obtained an LLM degree in Law from Stockholm University from 1988 to 1993. In 2008 to 2009, they pursued a Staff Officer degree specializing in Geopolitical Studies, Peace Keeping Operations, and the Higher Staff Officer Course at Försvarshögskolan. In 1990, Johan attended the Army Intelligence School for a period, although no official degree or field of study is specified. In 2009, they completed the Legal Advisor Course at NATO SCHOOL OBERAMMERGAU. Johan also completed the Vattenfall Core Management Program in 2005, focusing on management. In 1986 to 1987, they took the Reserve Officer Exam at Inf/Kav OHS. For their secondary education, they studied at Tumba Gymnasium from 1981 to 1985, majoring in Samhällsvetenskaplig linje and earning a Studentexamen degree. In 1983 to 1984, Johan attended Archbishop Alter High School and obtained a High School Exam. Additionally, they completed an Advanced Legal Adviser Course at NATO SCHOOL OBERAMMERGAU in 2014. Most recently, Johan completed the Strategisk Reservofficerskurs in National Security Strategy at the National Defence College in 2020.
