Niklas Backlund

Niklas Backlund has over two decades of extensive experience in IT management and governance, currently serving as the Head of IT Operational Excellence at Saab since October 2008. Backlund has held various key positions, including IT Governance Officer and Saab IT Transformation Lead, where responsibilities included leading a program aimed at making IT a core business enabler. Backlund has also served as Acting Head of IT Product Management and Director of IT for Business Area Surveillance, focusing on maximizing business value from IT resources. Prior experiences include Senior System Engineer roles at Proact IT Sweden AB, IT Manager at WermTec AB, and Project Manager CAD at PLC Data AB, showcasing a robust background in technical, budget, and staff management. With a technical college graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Älvkullegymnasiet, Backlund has successfully navigated diverse roles throughout a dynamic career in the IT sector.
