Nivan Moodley

Nivan Moodley has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Nivan started their career in 2004 as a Senior Scientist at Biosciences, CSIR, where they conducted research on drug candidates from medicinal plants and micro-organisms. In 2010, they became the R&D outcomes Manager at Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) DPSS, where they were responsible for ensuring the appropriate intellectual property protection approach and leading international business discussions and negotiations. In 2014, they joined CSIR as the Operations and R&D Outcomes Manager DPSS. Most recently, in 2019, they worked at Saab as an Executive Manager before being promoted to Vice President and Head of Business Development and Strategy in 2020.

Nivan Moodley completed their education with the following degrees: a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2016, an MBA in General Management from GIBS in 2009, a PostDoc in Chemistry from the University of Basel in 2006, a Phd in Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2004, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Organic Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2002, a Bachelor of Science Honours (B.Sc.Hons) in Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2000, and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 1999. Prior to university, Nivan completed their secondary education from 1993 to 1996. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Anti-bribery and Corruption, Competition Law, and The OHSA Covid19 Directive: Keeping the Workplace Safe from Compliance Online (Pty) Ltd. in 2021.
