Helping academics, scholars, writers, artists, and friends find home matches across the globe is our goal. Whether it is for sabbaticals, academic research, writing retreats, or time off travel — we provide low-fee listings for people to find, or offer, homes around the world.

SabbaticalHomes.com continues to grow thanks to satisfied members recommending us to colleagues and sending in success-based contributions. You will notice that we offer very low fees for academics to use our services. We feel it is important for all of academia to have the opportunity to travel and share their ideas—from PhDs to tenured professors. Therefore, success-based contributions are crucial to sustaining our low-fee, advertisement-free, specialized website service.

SabbaticalHomes.com was created to serve the worldwide academic community. Our founder coded the first iteration of the site in 2000 to fill a growing housing need for minds on the move. In the meantime, many other housing rental/exchange sites have popped up. Competitors have approached us in the past looking to collaborate, but we want to stay true to our mission--and remain an independent, individually operated business. We are proud to say that SabbaticalHomes.com is still the leading internet-based directory for academic home exchanges, home rentals, house sitting and sharing opportunities. And to this day, a dedicated team, led by the founder, keeps the operation running.

Please spend some time on our website and find, or offer, a place to stay on SabbaticalHomes.com today!
