Eric O’Brien

SVP, Asset Management & Managing Director, Urbane Capital, LLC at Sachem Capital

Eric O’Brien is the Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Sachem Capital Corp. and Managing Director at Urbane Capital, LLC. Eric is an accomplished executive with over 30 years of exceptional experience in construction management, design and development. He brings a diversity of knowledge with strengths in areas such as construction finance, asset management, property acquisitions, and real estate development. In his role, Eric is responsible for the company’s lending evaluation, assessment, and approvals.

Prior to joining Sachem Capital Corp, Eric was the president and founder of Urbane NewHaven, LLC with his wife Carla. The construction design firm specialized in all aspects of development, design and construction management. With the integration of Urbane NewHaven and Sachem Capital Corp. in 2022, Eric assumed the role of Managing Director at Urbane Capital, LLC.

Throughout his career he received several awards, most recently the Fast Company's Award as the "Best Workplace for Innovators" for his District New Haven, which he co-founded in 2018. He specializes in creative unique spaces and has developed a multitude of projects that include restaurants, luxury homes, multi-family properties, and offices.

Eric is the former Chairman of the New Haven Historic District Commission, served on the Board of Directors for the Creative Arts Workshop, and most recently Montauk Brewing Company, before its acquisition by publicly traded Tilray Brands.

Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island and is an active supporter of his Alma Mater.
