Mark Vandenplas

Mark Vandenplas has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Mark is currently the Managing Director of Cloud Engineering at SADA, An Insight company, where they oversee cloud engineering operations. Prior to that, they held roles such as Regional Director of Solutions Architecture and Manager of Solutions Architecture at the same company.

Before joining SADA, Mark worked at TransUnion where they held the position of Director of Cloud Platform - Architecture and Engineering. In this role, they led the strategic implementation of AWS and Azure, receiving a $200 million investment. Mark also restructured the cloud platform division and managed the global architecture engineering team.

Prior to TransUnion, Mark worked at the University of Illinois as a Senior Network Analyst, where they managed various technology-driven projects and maintained servers, LAN/WAN/Wireless networks, and security components.

Mark also gained experience as an intern at Aisa Technologies and worked as a System Administrator at Knowledge Based Systems.

Mark Vandenplas completed their education at the University of Illinois Chicago, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Finance, General, and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Management Information Systems between 2008 and 2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1999 to 2003. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate, JNCIA-Junos from Juniper Networks, and Red Hat Certified Engineer, although the specific details of these certifications are not provided.
