George Gathua

George Gathua is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in project finance, budget management, and grants administration. Currently serving as the Finance and Grants Manager for Safaricom and Mpesa Foundations since May 2017, George engages with program teams to develop budgets and workplans. Previously held the position of Senior Accountant at Kioko and Associates, overseeing the finance department and preparing management reports, as well as sourcing for debt financing. George's experience also includes serving as a Project Accountant for Bebapay at Google Kenya, where an accounting system was established for the project. Earlier in their career, George was an Accountant in Receivables at Safaricom Limited, focusing on journal entries and financial reporting. George holds a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and is a Certified Public Accountant in Kenya.
