In Massachusetts today, only 50% of people with substance use or other mental illness actually receive care. 

This is the detail that often gets overlooked: Reasons vary between communities—workforce shortages, lack of transportation, treatment center closures, stigma, active cartels, homelessness and more—so no single solution works for every community. 

SAFE Coalition provides support services that close the care gaps unique to each community. Each year, we help 3,000 families across Massachusetts access cost-free, judgement-free substance use and mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery support where and when they need it most.   

We help people like Sarah, a teen who said, “I never trust my therapists and parents enough to talk to them. But the people here were incredible and made me feel very safe. I’ve learned a lot and hope to decrease my substance use and then ultimately quit."
