Benjamin Carlson is currently the Director of the Center for Strategic Industrial Materials at SAFE, where they advance policies to strengthen the security and diversity of steel and aluminum supply chains. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Technology Development Manager at the DOE Manufacturing & Energy Supply Chains Office from 2023 to 2025. Benjamin has also held positions as a Writer/Editor and International Trade Specialist at the International Trade Administration, and completed internships with the International Trade Administration and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Oklahoma.
