Athanasios Bamis

Athanasios (Nasos) Bamis is the Chief Technology Officer at SafeSize, where they are focused on building self-driving vehicles. They previously served as a Senior Engineering Manager at Instacart and as Director of Engineering at Optimus Ride, leading the organization responsible for machine learning and cloud infrastructure for autonomous vehicles. Bamis held a VP role at Ameresco, overseeing the development of the Building Dynamics energy monitoring IoT solution, and led software development for the Amazon Dash Cart and Alexa AI at Amazon. As a founder of Seldera LLC, they laid the groundwork for the energy solutions now employed by Ameresco. Bamis also has an academic background as a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Connecticut, with over 30 publications in the field. They are currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering at Yale University.
