Torsten Oekermann is an electrochemist and battery expert currently leading the development of lithium cells and batteries at Saft since 2009. They previously served as a project leader and postdoctoral researcher at Gifu University, focusing on dye-sensitized solar cells from 2000 to 2003. From 2003 to 2009, Torsten was the head of a research group and scientific assistant at Leibniz University Hannover, where their work encompassed solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, fuel cells, and electrochemical deposition. Torsten earned a Dr. rer. nat. in Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, and Electrochemistry from the University of Bremen between 1989 and 1999.
