John Thompson

John Thompson has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. John started their career as a Research Engineer at Alberta Innovates, specializing in Chemical Flooding. John then worked as a Technical Sales Engineer at Fekete & Associates for four years. Following that, they joined IHS Markit as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, where they focused on Rate Transient Analysis for Unconventional Reservoirs and served as a Senior Technical Advisor. John then joined NCS Multistage as the Director of Business Development - Reservoir Strategies, providing guidance to clients for completions and field development decisions. Currently, they are serving as the President of SAGA Wisdom, an energy education and consulting company known for their web-based software platform.

John Thompson attended Trinity College School (TCS) from 1989 to 1994. John obtained their high school or secondary diplomas and certificates during this period. Following their time at TCS, Thompson enrolled at Queen's University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering with a focus on the Mineral Processing option. This occurred from 1994 to 1999. Thompson furthered their education at the University of Calgary, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from 2004 to 2008.
