Ivan Koparan

Ivan Koparan is a Senior Research Associate, Portage Ventures at Sagard, and joined the firm in 2019. As a member of Portage, Ivan invests in early-stage and growth-stage fintech opportunities globally. He is responsible for all aspects of the investment process, including origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management. Ivan is based in Toronto, Canada.

Prior to Sagard, Ivan interned at iGan Partners as an investment analyst, where he helped evaluate early-stage Canadian MedTech and B2B SaaS companies. Prior to that, he interned at the Ontario Ministry of Health where he worked with the Health Capital team assisting in the capital planning process for Hospitals in Ontario.

Ivan holds M.A. in Economics from the University of Waterloo with a focus on applied economics. He also received his Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management (BAFM) from the University of Waterloo.
