Samuel Urwin

Samuel Urwin is an experienced data scientist currently employed at Sage since September 2021. Previously, Samuel served as a clinical scientist at the NIHR Newcastle In-Vitro Diagnostics Co-operative from November 2019 to September 2021, where collaborative work with Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Newcastle University was prominent. Samuel’s early career includes roles as an associate researcher at Newcastle University and research scientist (medical physics) at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Training as a clinical scientist (bioinformatics) was also part of this journey. Samuel's educational qualifications include a master's degree in Clinical Bioinformatics from the University of Liverpool, a Ph.D. in Biomechanics from Northumbria University, and a bachelor's degree in Applied Sport and Exercise Science from the same institution. Samuel's research has focused on the utilization of statistical programming in clinical applications, particularly concerning patient data and outcomes.
