Clyde Smithson

Chief Engineer

Clyde Smithson is a System Engineer Senior Principal with a strong focus on system engineering and integration for complex systems. Currently serving as Chief Engineer at SAIC and an Adjunct Faculty member at Johns Hopkins University, Clyde has extensive experience in systems architecture, modeling, and simulation. Previously, they held senior roles at organizations such as General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, and The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where they managed engineering projects and developed real-time simulation systems. Clyde has also been an active member of the Standards Activity Committee at the Simulation Interoperability Standards Organization since 2021. They are pursuing advanced degrees in Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering, building on a foundational education in Aerospace and Oceanographic Engineering from Virginia Tech.
