Based within Emory University's Department of Environmental Sciences and spearheaded by the esteemed interdisciplinary professor and researcher, Dr. Eri Saikawa, the Saikawa Lab is dedicated to pioneering research in various aspects of sustainability.

Our research encompasses a wide array of critical topics including:
- Air Quality: Investigating the impact of air pollution exposure.
- Soil Contamination: Focusing on heavy metal contaminants in Atlanta, notably contributing to the EPA's recognition of the Westside Atlanta Superfund site.
- Climate Smart Agriculture: Assessing the effects of reducing greenhouse gas emissions through crop protection.
- Environmental/Climate Policy: Analyzing how findings from our research areas influence policy decisions and shape new environmental initiatives.

Comprising a diverse team of members, including Emory undergraduate and graduate students ranging from Ph.D. candidates in sustainability to those pursuing an MPH from Rollins, the Saikawa Lab is committed to advancing knowledge and fostering positive change.

We are enthusiastic about engaging with our community, sharing our insights, and offering opportunities for involvement to collectively work towards a better, more sustainable world. Connect with us to learn more and join our journey.
