It exists to make discoveries and develop policies that improve lives by providing approved researchers with secure, linkable and anonymised data, some dating back a quarter of a century or more, that can be accessed and analysed from anywhere in the world.

SAIL Databank uses the Secure eResearch Platform to provide controlled data access and High-Performance Computing to users. We can also accommodate Machine Learning and AI projects through the associated advanced technology infrastructure.

Our Consumer Panel and independent Information Governance Review Panel ensure that the our most important stakeholder; patients and the public, have a say all research that is conducted using SAIL.
