David Fairman

David Fairman is a seasoned software engineer with extensive experience in the weather technology sector. Currently serving as a Sr. Software Engineer at Saildrone Inc since September 2016, David leads the science and weather team. Previously, at The Weather Company, an IBM Business, from February 2015 to September 2016, David held the role of Sr. Software Engineer and Team Lead, overseeing a team of seven engineers and advising on the design of web-based weather products. Earlier, as a Software Engineer at Weather Underground from July 2011 to February 2015, David contributed to improving the platform's interactive mapping interface and added new features. David also has experience as a Sales Engineer, where responsibilities included developing software to enhance sales workflows and client interactions. David began their career as a Lift Operator at Squaw Valley USA and as a Filmer/Video Editor with N5 Productions. David holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, earned in 2010.
