Picture this: my grandparents, full of hope & determination, embarked on a journey to Australia, carrying with them the rich tapestry of Italian tradition. My mother, a spirited teenager at the time, faced the challenge of mastering English, while my grandfather, a skilled mechanical engineer, & my grandmother, a passionate opera singer, brought their unique talents and heritage to our family's new Australian home.

I can still vividly recall the aroma of freshly made pasta wafting through the kitchen, the joy of churning gelato by hand, and the warmth of gathering around the table to share a meal lovingly prepared with homegrown herbs, spices, & vegetables from our backyard. Those moments, steeped in tradition and connection, are etched into memory.

During our visits to Italy, we soaked in the essence of our extended family, immersing ourselves in timeless traditions that transcended borders. The values instilled by my mother & nonna resonating – the importance of family, the celebration of good food, & the simple joy of coming together over a coffee.

Now, as a doctor, I often find myself reflecting on these cherished values in a world that seems to spin faster each day.
