Cory Engelken

Cory Engelken has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 1997, they worked at American Management Systems as a Software Developer, where they developed, maintained, and tested COBOL/IDMS application software. Cory also played a role in Year 2000 testing by analyzing and testing date simulation tools. During their time at American Management Systems, they designed and implemented an in-house defect tracking system using Visual Basic.

In 1998, Cory joined Corporate Express as a Systems Analyst and later took on the role of E-Commerce Test Lead. Cory developed and executed test plans across various applications, coordinated project release schedules, and collaborated closely with the e-commerce development team, database administrators, and application support to ensure the delivery of quality applications.

From 2000 to 2002, Cory worked as a Software Developer at Kestrel Technologies. Their responsibilities included designing, developing, and testing C++ applications that communicated with external APIs for real-time pricing and deal feeds in the securities market. Cory also provided application support at client locations.

Returning to Corporate Express in 2002, Cory took on the role of Performance Tester and Systems Analyst. Cory specialized in designing, developing, and executing performance tests using Mercury Load Runner. Additionally, they mentored peers on the Quality Engineering team and conducted proof-of-concept activities with external vendors.

In 2007, Cory joined ClickBank as a Quality Assurance Team Lead and eventually progressed to become the Director of IT Operations. Cory led multiple teams responsible for supporting a global e-commerce platform, managing IT infrastructure across multiple offices and datacenters. Cory oversaw vital aspects such as the support of production environment applications and architecture generating $450 million in annual sales. Cory administered the IT budget, collaborated with vendors for hardware and software solutions, and ensured 24/7 on-call support for critical processes. Cory also played a role in database administration and tuning, created automation scripts, established a disaster recovery plan, and supported and optimized various production applications.

Most recently, Cory Engelken has taken on the role of Director of Technology at SalonInteractive in 2021.

Cory Engelken completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems from Kansas State University between 1991 and 1996. In addition to their degree, Cory has obtained two additional certifications from Amazon. In August 2017, they became an AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate, and in May 2018, they achieved the AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate certification.
