John Kramer's work experience includes founding and serving as the CEO of Salsa.dev, a company focused on building modern payroll infrastructure. John is passionate about creating financially healthier and happier work environments. Prior to Salsa.dev, John worked as an advisor for various startups, providing guidance on strategy, scaling, revenue growth, and talent acquisition. John also has experience serving as an interim Chief Operating Officer for several startups. In 2018, John took a sabbatical to embark on personal adventures such as a road trip, kitesurfing in Greece, skiing in Utah, and living in Baja for four months. Prior to their advisory and startup roles, John served as the Chief Operating Officer and board member of HoneyBook, where they played a pivotal role in scaling the fintech startup to a $2.4 billion valuation. John was responsible for revenue growth, and under their leadership, the company experienced significant growth. Before entering the startup world, John worked at Citi as a Product Manager for Digital Payments and as an Investment Banking Associate in Brazil, gaining valuable experience in dynamic markets. John also worked as a Summer Associate at Perella Weinberg Partners in Private Equity. Early in their career, John launched and ran an internet company called Omni Net Internet Services, providing internet access to consumers and small businesses.
John Kramer earned a Master of Science in Analytical Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University from 1999 to 2004. John then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School from 2009 to 2011. In addition to their academic qualifications, John obtained the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification from the AICPA in September 2005 and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification from the CFA Institute in August 2006.
