Paul Cooper has over 25 years of experience in business development and engineering roles. Paul started their career in 1994 as an Automotive Electronics Development Engineer at McLaren Group. In 1997, they moved to Methode Electronics in Malta as an Electronic Design Engineer. In 1998, they joined Knorr-Bremse UK / Westinghouse Brakes as a Business Development Manager, where they were responsible for business development of railway braking products and associated safety systems. In 2002, they moved to AEA Technology as a Business Development Director. From 2006 to 2011, they were a Business Development / Key Accounts at Rolls-Royce / OSyS, where they were responsible for all aspects of business development, sales management, account/campaign management for enterprise software and services in the Civil Aviation and Defence Aerospace sectors. From 2011 to 2017, they were the Vice President of Partnerships & Strategic Alliances at AVEVA, where they were responsible for owning and driving the overall strategy and direction of AVEVA’s partnership program. Since 2017, they have been the Business Development Director at OptaSense, where they are driving increased demand for OptaSense's fibre optic monitoring solutions into the international Road and Rail markets. In 2022, they joined Salunda as a Business Development Director.

Paul Cooper obtained a B.Eng in Electrical & Electronic engineering from the University of Greenwich in 1993. Paul then went on to obtain a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Electro-Magnetic Compatibility from the same university in 1995. Finally, in 2002 they completed an MBA from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School.
