Joe G. has extensive work experience in various industries, including co-founding and serving as a board member for multiple companies. In 2005, they founded CritBuns, where they designed, developed, and patented a portable seat cushion product. Joe successfully marketed the product globally, exhibiting it in three countries and selling it in over 30 stores. From 2005 to 2009, they also founded and led Juice Studios, focusing on unknown roles during this time. In 2006, Joe G. joined Chronicle Books as an Industrial Designer, leading new package design and format initiatives. Joe also contributed to retail store and trade show experience design. Joe G. co-founded Ecolect, Inc. in 2006, where they developed a sustainable materials community and turned their GreenBox subscription service into a profitable venture. From 2008, Joe G. served as a co-founder and Chairman of Airbnb.org, overseeing the growth of Airbnb into a global platform with millions of users. Joe is currently a board member at Tesla and Samara. Additionally, in 2013, Joe G. became a board member of the Rhode Island School of Design.
Joe G. attended the Rhode Island School of Design from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic + Industrial Design. Joe also took some joint classes at Brown University and studied Product Development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, although the specific duration and degrees earned from these institutions are unknown.
