Dave Brown

Dave Brown currently serves as the Head of Rail Programme at Samaritans, a position held since September 2020, and has held multiple roles including Senior Programme Manager, Senior Regional Lead, and Regional Development Lead. Prior to this, Dave worked as a Counsellor at University College Birmingham and St Martin’s Counselling and Psychotherapy, providing support to young people and delivering person-centred therapy. Experience as a Community Suicide Prevention Adviser at PAPYRUS involved training and project management for community engagement in Birmingham and Solihull. Dave’s earlier career includes a lengthy tenure at GIP Ltd, where roles progressed from Geotechnical Engineer to Principal Engineer, focusing on geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Birmingham.
