Ellen Finlay

Ellen Finlay is a seasoned professional in policy development and advocacy, currently serving as a Commissioner at the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland since June 2022 and as a Policy & Development Manager at Samaritans since August 2021. Previously, Ellen held the position of Policy Officer at Children in Northern Ireland from September 2011 to September 2021, where efforts focused on women's engagement in policy, child poverty, and early years investment. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Research Methodology and Quantitative Methods from Ulster University (2016-2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy from The Open University (2000-2005). Additionally, Ellen has pursued studies at the Irish Management Institute.
