Amanda Doreson

Senior Advisor

Amanda Doreson is a seasoned professional in public health and behavioral sciences, currently serving as a Senior Advisor at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) since June 2022, where Amanda leads ACCME accreditation efforts. Prior to this role, Amanda held the position of Senior Public Health Advisor in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer and served as a Senior Social Science Analyst at SAMHSA. Amanda's career also includes significant experience with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Behavioral Scientist focusing on HIV prevention and as a CDC Evaluation Fellow. Additional expertise was gained through roles such as Evaluation Consultant at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and as an External Affairs Associate at Physicians for Reproductive Choice and Health. Amanda is currently pursuing a Doctor of Public Health in Implementation Science at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, following an MPA in Management and Policy Analysis from New York University and a BA in Political Science and Women's Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
