Christopher J.

Christopher J. currently serves as the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) since August 2023. Previously, Christopher held multiple leadership roles at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including Director and Acting Director of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. Additional experience includes serving as Director of the National Mental Health and Substance Use Policy Laboratory at SAMHSA and Acting Associate Deputy Assistant Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Christopher's educational background includes a Doctor of Public Health from The George Washington University, a Master of Public Health from New York Medical College, a Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University School of Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Reinhardt University.
