Kurt John Edd

Chief Financial Officer

Kurt John EdD, MPA, MSF serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), overseeing financial stewardship for a $7.5 billion organization since October 2021. Previously, Kurt held the same position at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), managing finances for a $3.9 billion entity from January 2019 to September 2021. Kurt also served as the Chief Financial and Executive Officer at the Center for Information Technology (CIT), directing operations for a $400 million organization from July 2014 to December 2018. Earlier experience includes roles as Deputy Budget Officer and Budget Analyst at the National Eye Institute (NEI), contributing to budgeting processes for an institution with a budget exceeding $700 million. Kurt began a career in financial management during active duty in the US Navy from June 2000 to January 2008. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Human and Organizational Learning from The George Washington University, a Master of Public Administration from American University, and a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Maryland.
