Teal Canady

Teal Canady has over 15 years of work experience in the technology and data architecture fields. In 2019, they became the Vice President of Technology and Director of Data Architecture at Research Defender, where they are currently responsible for migrating to a more optimal AWS region, securing the platform and creating redundancy for business continuity scenarios. From 2014 to 2019, they were a Principal Data Engineer at Lucid, LLC, where they designed and implemented a data streaming system from SQL Server to Kinesis. From 2014 to 2012, they were an Independent Datawarehouse Consultant at Spectrum Group International, where they gathered requirements for a financial cube integrating internal systems and an Epicor ERP system. From 2012 to 2011, they were a Sr. Business Intelligence Architect at Lieberman Research Worldwide, where they trained staff in Excel 2013's new features and presented Business Intelligence options to senior management. From 2011 to 2007, they were a Sr. Production Database Administrator at Interviewing Service of America. From 2007 to 2006, they were a Sr. Production Database Administrator at OTX, where they created a viable backup solution, recommended hardware upgrades, upgraded the system from SQL Server 2000 to 2005 and optimized procedures to decrease CPU and disk utilization. Finally, from 2006 to 2004, they were a Quality Assurance Engineer at LiveOffice, where they tested application logic in an email archiving application and developed use cases for black box testing.

Teal Canady began their educational journey in 1997, when they attended El Camino Community College for Pre; Calculus and General Education. They then attended The Evergreen State College from 2000 to 2004, graduating with a B.S in Computer Science; RDMS.
