Chola Makgamathe is an experienced copyright practitioner and advocate with a strong background in the cultural and creative industries. They served as General Manager Legal Services at SAMRO and have held the position of Director and Chairperson at the Copyright Coalition Of South Africa since 2019. Chola practiced as an Associate at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs from 2006 to 2008 and was CEO of Downtown Music Hub from 2010 to 2017. They have a Master of Laws (LLM) in Cyber Law, Intellectual Property Law, Media Law, and Telecommunications Law from the University of the Witwatersrand, where they also completed their LLB.
