John Rubis

John Rubis is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in firmware and embedded systems development. Currently serving as Engineering Manager II - Firmware at Samsara since October 2023, John previously held the position of Lead Firmware Engineer at Rain Bird Corporation, where responsibilities included leading firmware development for sustainment and new product development activities. Prior to that, John was the Leader of Embedded Systems Engineering at AMETEK Brookfield, where John successfully built a team from the ground up. Additional experience includes managerial roles at Onset Data Loggers and maximatecc, where John contributed to firmware development and led the launch of a new display product line. John’s early career includes extensive leadership roles in the Army National Guard, culminating in the position of Company Commander. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and has completed military training at the U.S. Army Infantry Officer School.
