Steven Hou

Steven Hou currently serves as the Director of Electrical Engineering at Samsara since November 2022. Previously, as a Senior Manager of Hardware Development at Amazon from February 2020 to November 2022, Steven led a diverse team to innovate technologies in computer vision and AI to elevate customer experiences in physical retail through products like the Amazon Dash Cart. Steven held the position of Head of 3D Sensing Hardware at Facebook from December 2018 to February 2020, where the focus was on developing core technologies for AR/VR/MR headsets. Earlier, from June 2009 to December 2018, Steven was a Senior Manager at Amazon Lab126, leading the design and integration of hardware systems for Kindle and Echo devices. Steven's career began at Nokia, where from 1998 to 2009, the role of R&D Program Manager involved guiding the development and launch of multiple Nokia N-series smartphones in international markets.
