VP Of Technology at Samsung

Hong Kim currently serves as the VP of Technology at Samsung Electronics, focusing on CMP simulator development using neural network models and AI, alongside advancements in silicon photonics and specialty technology processes. Previous experience includes a role at GlobalFoundries as PMTS, leading technology transfers for automotive devices and managing BEOL CMP process development. As SMTS at GlobalFoundries, Hong Kim oversaw technology transfers related to various silicon technologies and process development for advanced semiconductor applications. Earlier roles include contributions as an MTS on slurry quality control and cost-saving projects, as well as part-time research assistant work at LG Electronics and an internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Hong Kim holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master’s degree in the same field from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
