Derek Kasper has a diverse work experience in various industries. Derek started their career as a Merchandiser at Aunt Millie's Bakeries in 2011 and then worked as a Grocery Clerk at Kroger from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they joined Sakura Japanese Steakhouse as a Team Member, where they focused on providing excellent customer service and maintaining the restaurant's dining tables. From 2015 to 2017, Derek worked at Fastenal as a Sales Associate, with a strong emphasis on customer service and inventory management. Derek then joined the Ohio Air National Guard in 2011 as a Fire Protection Specialist, where they supervised and trained lower-ranking personnel. In 2017, Derek moved to LafargeHolcim as a Warehouse Supervisor and later took on the role of Procurement Intern. During their time at LafargeHolcim, they assisted with logistics, maintained a transportation hauler database, and collaborated with the transportation safety team. Derek currently works at Samuel, Son & Co. as an Off Site Processing Manager, a position they assumed in April 2022, and previously worked as a Purchasing Supervisor from 2019 to 2022.

Derek Kasper pursued their education at various institutions. In 2012, they attended the Louis F Garland Fire School, where they completed a program in Fire Protection as a Fire Protection Apprentice. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2017, they enrolled at The University of Toledo, where they earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus in Supply Chain Management.
