John Calhoon has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. John started their career in 1993 as a Senior Policy Advisor for the State of Colorado, where they co-led the Governor's policy agenda and played a role in planning and analyzing initiatives for education and human services.

John then moved into the private sector and worked for MediaOne Group/AT&T Broadband as a Manager of Market Strategy Development. John was responsible for developing strategies to drive growth in the telecommunications industry.

John later held roles at Jato Communications, Inflow Managed Data Centers (acquired by Sunguard Availability Services), and The Change Companies. In these positions, they led product management, marketing, and business development efforts, focusing on client service delivery and sales growth.

Since 2005, John has been working for Sand Cherry and has held various leadership positions. John started as a Senior Business Consultant and became a Partner in 2008. John then took on the role of Product/Marketing Practice Lead and Partner, where they developed and organized intellectual capital and led global client engagements. Currently, they hold the position of Managing Director of Business Solutions and Partner, where they are responsible for client development, business strategy, and solutions delivery.

Throughout their career, John has demonstrated their ability to lead and drive results in the areas of product development, marketing, sales, customer experience, and business operations across multiple industries.

John Calhoon attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business from 1996 to 1998, where they obtained their MBA degree with a focus on Market Strategy and Product Marketing. Prior to that, they attended Colorado College from 1989 to 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science. In terms of additional certifications, John obtained a certificate in Product Strategy from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in November 2022 and another certificate in Digital Marketing Strategies: Data, Automation, AI & Analytics from the same institution in November 2019. John also holds a National 'C' Coaching License from the U.S. Soccer Federation, which they obtained in 2018. Additionally, John pursued Public Management and Social Innovation Graduate Studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business, although specific months and years for this program were not provided.
