Stefan Leichenauer

Stefan Leichenauer has a diverse work experience. Stefan is currently working as the VP of Engineering at SandboxAQ since January 2022. Prior to this, from December 2020 to December 2021, they were a Research Scientist and Engineering Lead at Alphabet Inc. Before that, they worked at X, the moonshot factory, where they held multiple roles. From 2019 to 2020, they served as a Research Scientist, and from 2018 to 2019, they were a Visiting Faculty. Stefan's earlier experience includes being a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley from 2014 to 2017, and a John A. McCone Postdoctoral Scholar in High Energy and String Theory Physics at Caltech from 2011 to 2014.

Stefan Leichenauer obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics-Physics from Brown University, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Stefan later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating between 2006 and 2011. In September 2017, Stefan Leichenauer received a certification as a Program Graduate from The Data Incubator.
