Tom Burrow

Tom Burrow is a seasoned learning designer with a robust background in educational content development and curriculum design. Currently serving as Lead Learning Designer at SandboxAQ since September 2023, Tom previously held the role of Senior Manager, Learning Engineering at Newsela, where the leadership of an R&D team focused on incubating and scaling product offerings. Tom has also contributed to IXL Learning as Curriculum Design Manager, leading the creation of adaptive science modules, and as Science Curriculum Designer, focusing on algorithmically-generated assessments. Earlier experience includes teaching middle school science at Town School for Boys, where design and implementation of inquiry-based courses were emphasized. Tom's career began as an Environmental Education Specialist with the Santa Clara County Office of Education and included volunteer work as an English teacher in Vietnam. Tom holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Earth Systems from Stanford University.
