Sankar Polytechnic College was established in 1958, by Sri S.N.N. Sankarlinga Iyer of Kallidaikuruchi, Tirunelvelli Dist, a well-known industrialist and philanthropist, who was one of the founding Directors of India Cements Limited. Sri T.S. Narayanaswami personified a business culture and way of life that valued the nation and its citizens. He was a visionary and his entrepreneurship had a positive impact on industrialization in South India. He was a mentor to many luminaries and continues to be a source of inspiration for many.

The history of the institution is engrained in the post independent era of India, when there was a huge demand for institutions imparting technical knowledge and skills, needed to support the rapid phase of industrialization of the nation. Located in close proximity to the pioneering plant of India Cements Ltd, we offer Diploma programs in the engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical (EEE), Electronics (ECE) Computer. With dedicated staff, well equipped workshops / labs and excellent infrastructure facilities, we offer a highly conducive atmosphere for learning to our students.
