Nieke Halma is currently an AIOS Donorgeneeskunde at NSPOH, focused on donor medicine within the field of public health. Previously, Nieke served as a Donorarts at Sanquin, where they worked on communication with donors and medical aspects of donation, and held roles in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland and Reinier de Graaf ziekenhuis, respectively. Nieke began their career in donor medicine with practical training at NTS, specializing in tissue donor screening, and is currently furthering their expertise in organ donation at Erasmus MC. Nieke's specific interests include infectious diseases, vigilance, and the laws and regulations surrounding donation.
