Sansusī is a contemporary performing arts platform that has grown from a single open-air festival into an international space for creative collaboration.
Founded in 2013 in Latvia, the organisation develops the Sansusī contemporary music and performing arts festival, the artist residency centre Susēja, as well as social & international art projects.
The annual Sansusī festival brings together diverse contemporary performing arts forms with emphasis on academic music, creating a unique artistic experience. Its atmosphere combines high-quality artistic content with informal togetherness — camping, open-air stages, site specific performances and a strong sense of community among artists and audiences.
The Susēja residency centre offers a peaceful and focused environment for artistic work, research, well-being residencies in cooperation with local communities and interdisciplinary exchange. Surrounded by nature, it is a place where new ideas, artistic works and long-term professional networks emerge.
Sansusī also develops volunteer engagement programmes, inviting local participants and international young people (including European Solidarity corps and Erasmus+ programs) to become part of the creative process of the festival and other initiatives.
The organisation promotes artist mobility, international collaboration and the role of the arts in social wellbeing, while maintaining a sustainable approach to working in a natural environment.
Sansusī aims to strengthen the contemporary performing arts ecosystem in Latvia and create a space for new creative initiatives to grow.
