Bikas Ranjan has a diverse range of work experience in the field of photonics and nanotechnology. Bikas has worked as an R&D Lead at Santec Corporation since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at RIKEN from 2017 to 2021, where they focused on developing a better understanding of light interaction with 3D metamaterial for IR sensing. At the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher from 2016 to 2017, conducting research on size-controlled YAG:Ce3+ nanocrystals for high-power LEDs. Before that, at Osaka University, they earned their Ph.D. in Photonics and conducted research on the use of size-tunable plasmonic nanoparticles for detecting low-concentrated molecules and enhancing weak HRS signals. Bikas also worked as a Research Student at Osaka University from 2012 to 2013. Additionally, they have held positions as a Visiting Researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015, a Junior Research Fellow at T.I.F.R. from 2010 to 2012, a Master's Thesis Researcher at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2010, a Research Intern at the Institute For Plasma Research in 2008, and a Research Intern at the Indian Institute of Science in 2007. Throughout these positions, Bikas has gained expertise in various areas such as semiconductor development, optical thin film coating, material process, optical analysis, e beam lithography, thin-film deposition, and surface treatment.
Bikas RANJAN earned a Bachelor's degree in Photonics from Cochin University of Science and Technology between 2005 and 2010. Later, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Photonics at Osaka University from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, Bikas RANJAN has obtained several certifications, including "Develop Your Project Management Skills," "Become a Business Analytics Expert," and "Culture of Kaizen," among others. Some of these certifications were obtained in 2022 from platforms like LinkedIn and edX.
