Simon Leighfield

Simon Leighfield is an experienced professional with a strong background in project management and leadership within the energy sector. Currently serving as Acting GM Developments & PNG Projects at Santos Ltd since November 2021, Simon oversees project services for major and sustaining capital projects in Papua New Guinea, focusing on cost control, planning, and project risk management. Prior to this role, Simon held various positions at ExxonMobil for two decades, including Business Manager for a multi-billion dollar LNG project in Mozambique. Additional experience includes leadership roles in coaching and consulting with SL Business Consulting and Talisman, as well as contributions as Regional Development Officer for ICF Australasia. Simon holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne.
