Sean Blake

Sean Blake has extensive experience in information technology and leadership roles. Sean started their career as a Systems Operation Center Manager at Eli Lilly and Company, where they managed the design, development, and management of IT infrastructure. Sean then worked as an IT Director at Covance Biotechnology Services, overseeing the information technology department and leading a project to select workflow and document management systems.

After that, Blake joined Amphora Discovery Corporation as a Director of IT and Operations. In this role, they focused on strategic planning, implementation, and administration of information systems and technology. Sean also managed budget, selected vendors, and led application development and infrastructure staff members.

Blake later served as a Senior Director of IT at Inspire Pharmaceuticals, where they led the planning and implementation of information systems and technology. Sean provided technical consultation and guidance to various departments and ensured compliance with regulations.

Sean then joined US Data Management as a Project Manager, responsible for managing SharePoint Server 2010 implementations for life science companies. In this role, they ensured projects were completed on time and on budget and provided validation expertise to meet regulatory requirements.

Blake's next position was Director of Operations Support at FHI 360. Sean guided enterprise-wide IT initiatives, developed department goals aligned with the strategic plan, and oversaw IT support for employees in multiple countries.

Sean then joined BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Director of Information Systems. In this role, they directed strategic planning, budget management, and oversight for all information services functions. Sean established policies and procedures to create a secure technology environment and ensured compliance with regulatory regulations.

Before their current position, Blake worked at BioAgilytix as a Chief Information Officer. Sean oversaw the global IT function, including IT strategy, information security, infrastructure, scientific computing, and application development. Sean also served as the Chief Information Security Officer, responsible for planning and implementing an enterprise information security strategy.

Currently, Blake holds the position of Chief Information Officer at Sapio Sciences LLC.

Sean Blake earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, where they studied from 1983 to 1986. Sean later obtained a Masters Certificate in Advanced Information Assurance and Security from Villanova University, although the start and end years for this program are not provided. Additionally, Sean Blake has earned certifications in the field of information systems. In 2007, they became a Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) through ISACA, and in 2011, they obtained the Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control™ (CRISC) certification, also from ISACA.
