Derek Goss is a bespoke boat builder with a Master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Arizona State University, where they worked as a research assistant on NASA and Air Force-funded projects focusing on cellular materials and Additive Manufacturing. They contributed to a study of bio-inspired design principles from bee and wasp nests as part of their early research. Currently, Derek is funded by the ASU/NASA Space Grant to develop a Metal Additive Manufacturing course for industry professionals. Additionally, they have held roles at ICON as a Support Services Lead and at Saronic Technologies as a Special Programs Engineer.
