Mel Barrett

Mel Barrett, DBIA, currently serves as the Director of Preconstruction at SASCO since July 2025. Prior to this role, Mel held various positions at Helix Electric from February 2021 to July 2025, including Chief of Conceptual Estimating and Director of Conceptual Estimator. At Prime Electric, from August 2018 to February 2021, Mel directed conceptual estimating efforts, overseeing complex design-build projects, and enhancing productivity and accuracy. Mel's early career includes roles as Chief Estimator at McKinstry and Senior Estimator at Prime Electric, where contributions included managing estimating processes and supporting multiple project endeavors. Mel began in the industry as an Estimator and Project Manager at EHS Electrical Contractors, LLC from June 1997 to December 2006.
