Hongli Yang has worked at Satelytics since 2018 as a Research Scientist II, where they have built water quality algorithms using ML models for Landsat/Sentinel2 as well as other various commercial satellite sensors (such as Pleiades, Planet and WorldView sensors) to help clients monitor pollution sources remotely. Hongli has also researched, developed, and tested multiple global methane detection algorithms, evaluated results, and automated processing workflow. Additionally, they have researched and implemented greenhouse gas algorithms based on client needs to identify gas leaks, saving clients millions of dollars. Prior to this, Yang worked at Murray State University from 2015 to 2018 as a Graduate Assistant.
Hongli Yang obtained a Master's degree in Geography from Murray State University between 2015 and 2017.
