Bill Wu has extensive work experience in various industries and roles. Bill started their career in 1996 as a Guest Scientist at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC, where they worked on the Information Super-highway project. In 1998, they joined Nortel Networks as the Director of Technical Marketing, leading various areas including long haul optical networking and content switches.

In 2002, Bill became the VP of Sales and Marketing at Gentek (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., a network system integration vendor. Bill then founded Totalinfo, a startup focused on internet value-added services, where they served as the Founder and CEO. Following that, Bill worked at Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell as a VP, overseeing a business of 2 Billion Euro in China.

From 2009 to 2013, Bill served as the President of Greater China at Technicolor, the world's leading provider of video solutions for the Communication, Media, and Entertainment industries. Currently, Bill is the Managing Director and Fund Managing Partner at China Renaissance, a prominent Chinese investment banking firm.

Bill Wu has a diverse education history. Bill began their studies at Zhejiang University from 1986 to 1989 where they completed an Honor Class program. In 1989, they enrolled at the University of Oslo (UiO) and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 1990. Bill continued their education at UiO and completed a Master's degree in EE from 1991 to 1992. Bill Wu then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Oslo from 1992 to 1996. Afterward, they attended Queen's University from 1997 to 1998 to acquire a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
