saudade paws focuses on the experience of pet caregivers when a pet enters the senior, palliative, or end-of-life stage.

During this time, families often face anticipatory grief, difficult decisions, and practical caregiving challenges that extend beyond what veterinary appointments can realistically support.

saudade paws provides non-medical, hospice-informed guidance designed to complement veterinary care and help caregivers navigate this stage with greater clarity and steadiness.

The work takes three forms:

1. Caregiver Guidance
Supporting families through quality-of-life questions, decision-making, anticipatory grief, and the transition into bereavement.

2. Veterinary Collaboration
Working with veterinary teams on caregiver education, communication around end-of-life decisions, and frameworks that help prepare families for what lies ahead.

3. Advisory for Pet Care Organizations in the End-of-Life Space
Providing insight into the caregiver journey during serious illness and decline, helping companies design services, products, and customer experiences that better support families during the final stage of a pet’s life.

As the pet care industry expands into telehealth, home care, and digital platforms, understanding the caregiver experience during this stage is becoming increasingly important.

saudade paws helps bring structure, clarity, and practical insight to one of the most emotionally complex moments in the human–animal bond.
